Riding off the back of the FM and Thicklizzy, as well as the Bigpin, BOWA has the best elements of almost all of my midlength designs all whacked together - The goal being a board that glides and paddles like the Lizzy, carves like the FM, and cheater 5’s and trims forward like the BigPin. It is designed to be surfed in flatter-faced or more gentile surf like C-st, San-O & Malibu, but clearly the back end means business like the FM and can handle very good surf.
The nose is broad and thin, with a low rocker so paddling and wave entry is top-notch. The rails and back-half of the outline come from the ThickLizzy, generating TONS of speed from minimal conditions. The bottom shape and fin set is clearly an FM derivative - incredibly smooth carves and powerful projection off the bottom.
*This design can be ordered as a twinzer, single or 2+1 - I won’t discriminate given that its already a big mixup of other boards and the shape lends itself VERY well to a singlefin/2+1 approach.
*The ideal size range is pretty wide-open: from 6’10 clear up to 10’6 - though I will start to suggest single and 2+1 options once we’re talking about 8’10” or so.
